Rain Ending
It was pitch black out. I was blind and driving in to a ditch for fifteen straight white knuckled minutes.
It was pitch black out. I was blind and driving in to a ditch for fifteen straight white knuckled minutes.
We were in the middle of a torrential downpour and the headlights were obscured by this chinzty, bouncy and hastily mounted front bike rack. It was the second of (so far) four bike stowage configurations. Avoiding disaster we pulled off in to a Dollar General parking lot in Monroe, MI to wait it out and continue to get some miles behind us on our first day.
The rain ended (see pic), we moved the rack to the rear of the camper (config three) and headed out again. Then the rain started again. Then we parked at Wal Mart. In Monroe, MI. This ended our first day on the road after a marathon two weeks and two final sleepless nights of getting the house gone, packing, saying good byes, toiling over what to store, bring, donate or toss. We were exhausted, exhilarated and at Wal-Marts in Michigan. One of the best nights of my life.
